Amelia Island Plantation Stalking Horse

Amelia Island Co., parent company of the Amelia Island Plantation, announced Monday it has an initial preferred bidder in its bankruptcy reorganization plan.

Noble Investment Group of Atlanta has been selected as initial preferred bidder, or “stalking horse” bidder. Noble is an investor group for hotels and resorts throughout the country, according to the Amelia Island Co. release.

The high-end resort, on Nassau County’s Amelia Island, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November and continues its day-to-day operation while looking for an investor to assist with a long-term reorganization.

Through private equity real estate funds, Noble has invested more than $1.5 billion in hotels and resorts throughout the U.S., according to the release.
